After 7 played minutes, Chiriqui F.C.'s Sergio Mora shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fabio Villalobos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chiriqui F.C. reached it. Juan Murillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Fabio Villalobos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Juan Murillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 12th match minute, Santa Ana Arriba F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hector Escalona to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juan Murillo in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabio Villalobos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 16th minute, Lucho González got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Juan Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabio Villalobos was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Fabio Villalobos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lucho González's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santa Ana Arriba F.C.'s goalkeeper Fabio Villalobos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Santa Ana Arriba F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Juan Murillo came free, but Fabio Villalobos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Martín Nuñez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francesco Villarreal kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. If Lucho González had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the match, Chiriqui F.C.'s Lucho González sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabio Villalobos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With a little luck, Santa Ana Arriba F.C.'s Fabio Villalobos got control of the ball when Lucho González tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jorge Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Jonathan Osorio missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 60 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the José Herrera right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Santa Ana Arriba F.C.'s zone, Lucho González stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabio Villalobos came out of the goal and Lucho González tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Villalobos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 78 minutes, Jonathan Villalobos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santa Ana Arriba F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonathan Villalobos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fabio Villalobos made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Lucho González sent off a good shot on target. Chiriqui F.C.'s José Herrera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francesco Villarreal in the 97th minute of play. Chiriqui F.C. were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Santa Ana Arriba F.C. to leave the ground with a draw.
