Rafael Rios could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Gilberto Vergara made a huge save. Miguel Herrera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Moisés Peralta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Francesco Mendoza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raul Nuñez charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raul Nuñez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Raul Nuñez kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Moisés Peralta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesco Villarreal in the 15th minute of play. Gilberto Vergara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesco Mendoza in the 22nd minute of play. After 24 played minutes Caimitillo F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Martín Arauz. Gilberto Vergara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rafael Rios's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. With his leg Gilberto Vergara managed to avoid a goal in the 27thth minute, when Caimitillo's Rafael Rios fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Caimitillo F.C.'s Alexis Smith got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rafael Rios received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Gilberto Vergara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Miguel Herrera came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Caimitillo F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miguel Herrera couldn't finish the play. Rafael Rios sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 40 minutes into the match, Caimitillo F.C.'s goalkeeper Gilberto Vergara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafael Rios. Sebastián Gómez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Vergara having to interfere. If Rafael Rios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francesco Mendoza was the one to do the kick off. Alejandro De Diego kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Alexis Smith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 58 minutes, Miguel Herrera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caimitillo F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Herrera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Miguel Herrera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Moisés Peralta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexis Smith, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. 79 minutes into the match, Caimitillo's goalkeeper Moisés Peralta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miguel Herrera. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Caimitillo F.C.'s goalkeeper Gilberto Vergara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Francesco Mendoza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caimitillo F.C.'s Gilberto Vergara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francesco Mendoza in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Caimitillo fans cheered their team off the field, for while Caimitillo F.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
