Alexis Smith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lucho De Paredes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexis Smith in the 21st minute of the match. In the 25th minute Ramon Villarreal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Vergara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexis Smith did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Lucho De Paredes 36 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Puerto Escondido's goalkeeper Lucho De Paredes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Puerto Escondido's Lucho De Paredes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Puerto Escondido from getting a goal against them. Martín Arauz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luis Morales to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Puerto Escondido's goal looked a bit too open when Alexis Smith came free, but Lucho De Paredes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Miguel Herrera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Puerto Escondido's Lucho De Paredes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Herrera in the 60th minute of play. When Ramon Villarreal came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Puerto Escondido fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramon Villarreal couldn't finish the play. Caimitillo F.C.'s Gilberto Vergara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Morales in the 67th minute of play. The supporters of Puerto Escondido booed when Caimitillo F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilberto Espino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luis Morales received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Gilberto Vergara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alexis Smith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 75 minutes, Miguel Herrera made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Puerto Escondido's Lucho De Paredes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 82nd minute, Fabio Rios hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Puerto Escondido's goalkeeper Lucho De Paredes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Caimitillo F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexis Smith was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luis Morales recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Luis Morales managed to get in a good position for a shot. Puerto Escondido's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Morales was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilberto Vergara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Caimitillo F.C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
