Nuevo San Juan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santa Cruz F.C. the free kick. 4 minutes into the game, one of Nuevo San Juan:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Alex Ramirez, was totally fooled by Santa Cruz F.C.'s Elias Gutierrez, who 6 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 10th minute Azael Smith shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giancarlo Valdez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felipe Posam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th minute of the match, Felipe Posam tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alex Ramirez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Felipe Posam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Ramirez having to interfere. In the 25th match minute, Santa Cruz F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beto Agurto to maneuver through the defense. Alex Arauz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Giancarlo Valdez. Santa Cruz F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Azael Smith blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Giancarlo Valdez having to make a save. Alex Ramirez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Posam, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felipe Posam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Ramirez having to interfere. Felipe Posam was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 37th minute. Santa Cruz F.C.'s manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. With a little luck, Nuevo San Juan's Alex Ramirez got control of the ball when Raul Centella tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 41st minute, Jaime Ortega got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 42nd minute Jaime Ortega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giancarlo Valdez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Felipe Posam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 47th minute, Raul Centella left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santa Cruz F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felipe Posam to make the kick off. Santa Cruz F.C.'s Giancarlo Valdez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Santa Cruz F.C. from getting a goal against them. 57 minutes into the match, Santa Cruz F.C.'s Felipe Posam sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alex Ramirez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 59 minutes into the game, Raul Centella cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Alex Ramirez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Posam in the 66th minute of play forced Nuevo San Juan's goalkeeper Alex Ramirez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 68 in the game by Azael Smith from a close distance when the talented Giancarlo Valdez managed to make a qualified save. Santa Cruz F.C.'s players were relieved. If Azael Smith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The long shot by Carlos Carrillo in the 76th minute really tested Giancarlo Valdez's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Azael Smith could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Giancarlo Valdez made a huge save. Giancarlo Valdez made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Azael Smith sent off a good shot on target. Raul Centella received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Alex Ramirez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felipe Posam hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. A collision led to Nuevo San Juan getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Eduardo Mendoza hit a great ball. Felipe Posam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Alex Ramirez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Nuevo San Juan's Hector De Leon got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Alex Ramirez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felipe Posam's shot from short distance in the 99th minute.
