In the 5th minute, Elias Gutierrez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Raul Centella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaime Bermudez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Posam in the 9th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Tolé's goalkeeper Jaime Bermudez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raul Centella. If Raul Centella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute Fabio Gomez suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 21 minutes into the game, Ulpiano Ramírez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santa Cruz F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tolé the free kick. In the 22nd minute, Ulpiano Ramírez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Alberto García had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 26 played minutes, Tolé's Totín Zambrano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Giancarlo Valdez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tolé reached it. Alberto García sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Alberto García had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 32 minutes, Tomaso Peralta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tolé's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomaso Peralta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Alberto García came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Tolé fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto García couldn't finish the play. After 37 played minutes Santa Cruz F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Beto Agurto. When Milton Arias fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tolé's protests and gave Milton Arias a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Tolé's Lorenzo Bermudez got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Felipe Posam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Bermudez having to interfere. Santa Cruz F.C.'s Elias Gutierrez couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 46th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Tolé. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Felipe Posam stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Cheito Fernández had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 53rd minute, Alberto García left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tolé fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Felipe Posam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raul Centella's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jaime Bermudez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jaime Bermudez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jaime Bermudez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raul Centella in the 82nd minute of play. Alberto García fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giancarlo Valdez having to interfere. If Raul Centella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Posam in the 89th minute of play forced Tolé's goalkeeper Jaime Bermudez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jaime Bermudez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raul Centella, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. 92 minutes into the game, Tolé's Alberto García nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Giancarlo Valdez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Alberto García blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Giancarlo Valdez having to make a save. Tolé's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
