After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Matias Palma managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chiriquí Grande's supporters rose to their feet, but Matias Palma was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgardo Gómez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Chiriquí Grande's zone, Beto Benavides stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrés Henríguez came out of the goal and Beto Benavides tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Agustin Herrera was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute Matias Palma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgardo Gómez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matias Palma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgardo Gómez having to interfere. Finca Blanco F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 81 minutes into the match, Finca Blanco F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Matias Palma came free, but Edgardo Gómez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgardo Gómez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matias Palma in the 83rd minute of play. After having played for 91 minutes, Matias Palma managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chiriquí Grande's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matias Palma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Matias Palma's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgardo Gómez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Finca Blanco F.C.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
