In the 16th minute Sebastián Bermudez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Villalaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Potrero Grande's Emiliano Caballero got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Coetupo's zone, Raul Henríguez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agustin Gómez came out of the goal and Raul Henríguez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 25 minutes, Edgardo Castillo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Coetupo and the Potrero Grande players grew even worse after the yellow card. Edgardo Castillo kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After having played for 26 minutes, Emiliano Caballero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Potrero Grande's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emiliano Caballero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 29 minutes into the game, Tomaso Castillo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Potrero Grande's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coetupo the free kick. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sebastián Bermudez made a kick off. Raul Henríguez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raul Henríguez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Emiliano Caballero came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Potrero Grande fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emiliano Caballero couldn't finish the play.
