Spectators: 6786 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1786, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Emiliano Caballero took the kick off in the first half of the match. Américo Rios's late challenge caught a Volcán's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Américo Rios helped the player get up and apologised. After 4 played minutes Potrero Grande got a freekick which was hit by Américo Rios. Rolando Villalaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Benavides in the 5th minute of play. Orlando Benavides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Villalaz having to interfere. Milton Bermudez kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Monchi Centella fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Villalaz having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Potrero Grande's Américo Rios got a free kick in the 12th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Volcán's goalkeeper Orlando Villalobos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raul Henríguez. Potrero Grande's Rolando Villalaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monchi Centella in the 19th minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Raul Henríguez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Orlando Villalobos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 25 played minutes Potrero Grande got a freekick which was hit by Franklin Sánchez. The supporters of Potrero Grande booed when Volcán was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Nuñez didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monchi Centella in the 28th minute of play forced Potrero Grande's goalkeeper Rolando Villalaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Villalaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Benavides in the 31st minute of play. Emiliano Caballero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raul Henríguez got free with Orlando Villalobos in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 41st match minute, Potrero Grande was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franklin Sánchez to maneuver through the defense. In the 44th minute, Orlando Benavides ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rolando Villalaz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Orlando Benavides sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Monchi Centella to make the kick off. Orlando Benavides recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 57th minute, Monchi Centella got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Monchi Centella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orlando Benavides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Villalaz having to interfere. Orlando Villalobos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emiliano Caballero in the 68th minute of the match. Potrero Grande's Raul Henríguez got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Américo Rios hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Potrero Grande's zone, Orlando Benavides stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Villalaz came out of the goal and Orlando Benavides tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 79 minutes into the match, Potrero Grande's goal looked a bit too open when Monchi Centella came free, but Rolando Villalaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 84 played minutes, Volcán's Tomás Garcia De Paredes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rolando Villalaz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Volcán reached it. Orlando Benavides blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Villalaz having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monchi Centella in the 89th minute of play forced Potrero Grande's goalkeeper Rolando Villalaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute Monchi Centella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Villalaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raul Henríguez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Orlando Villalobos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
