Orlando Morris started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Capellanía's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Agurto came free, but Ulpiano Muñoz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cañazas F.C.'s Monchi Castillo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 8th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ulpiano Muñoz but with some difficulty. Emiliano Gutierrez hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. 10 minutes into the match, Capellanía's goalkeeper Ulpiano Muñoz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reinaldo Carrillo. In the 14th minute, Emiliano Gutierrez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes into the match, Orlando Morris had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Guillermo Paredes. Cañazas F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Orlando Morris was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 19 played minutes Cañazas F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Ortiz. A collision led to Capellanía getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Heraclides Garcia hit a great ball. Capellanía's Reggie Arias got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Cañazas F.C.'s zone, Orlando Morris stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guillermo Paredes came out of the goal and Orlando Morris tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Capellanía's Ulpiano Muñoz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Agurto in the 35th minute of play. 38 minutes into the game, Giancarlo Peralta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cañazas F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Capellanía the free kick. In the 43rd minute, Reinaldo Carrillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Emiliano Gutierrez fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Capellanía's protests and gave Emiliano Gutierrez a yellow card for diving instead. After 45 played minutes Capellanía got a freekick which was hit by Emiliano Gutierrez. Gustavo Ortiz was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 46th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jaime Agurto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Capellanía's Orlando Morris got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 56 played minutes Cañazas F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Giancarlo Peralta. In the 64th minute Orlando Morris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillermo Paredes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Capellanía booed when Cañazas F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Ramírez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Orlando Morris fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guillermo Paredes having to interfere. Reggie Arias came free with the goalkeeper in the 77th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Guillermo Paredes could save by the left post. In the 80th minute, Reinaldo Carrillo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cañazas F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Fabio Mendieta took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Guillermo Paredes. Cañazas F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Capellanía getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Emiliano Gutierrez hit a great ball. Reinaldo Carrillo might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ulpiano Muñoz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reinaldo Carrillo ran back to his position shaking his head. Reinaldo Carrillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Ulpiano Muñoz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Giancarlo Peralta hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Capellanía's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
