Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Fernando Calderón started the match with the kick off. Giancarlo Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Ríos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giancarlo Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eduardo Ríos, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute, Lucho Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, La Cabima's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Calderón came free, but Antonio Pimentel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miguel Tijero kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Francesco Gómez managed to get in a good position for a shot. EIVION's supporters rose to their feet, but Francesco Gómez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antonio Pimentel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eduardo Ríos made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Francesco Gómez managed to get in a good position for a shot. EIVION's supporters rose to their feet, but Francesco Gómez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antonio Pimentel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Francesco Gómez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernando Calderón recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 61 minutes into the game, one of La Cabima:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. La Cabima were furious when Miguel Tijero was red carded, 67 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 69th minute there was a penalty for EIVION. Enrique Fernandez stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Antonio Pimentel. 2-1. Antonio Pimentel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesco Gómez in the 72nd minute of play. In the 73rd minute Gilberto Gómez suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Totín Lao's late challenge caught a EIVION's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Totín Lao helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to La Cabima getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Totín Lao hit a great ball. 75 minutes into the match, Francesco Gómez notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of La Cabima's Antonio Pimentel. Antonio Pimentel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Francesco Gómez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Luis Quintero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reggie Escalona charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reggie Escalona the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. EIVION's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
