Spectators: 6814 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1814, VIP seats: 0) El Porvenir's Enrique Arias started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, El Porvenir's Max Mota got control of the ball when Toto Osorio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Toto Osorio charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Toto Osorio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Garachiné's Toto Osorio got a free kick in the 6th minute. With his leg Max Mota managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when Garachiné's Toto Osorio fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Through an outstanding action, after 23 minutes, Max Mota successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Alejandro Gómez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Arias in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Garachiné's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Villalobos came free, but Alejandro Gómez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute Enrique Arias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejandro Gómez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enrique Arias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alejandro Gómez having to interfere. If Enrique Arias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miguel Villalobos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Alejandro Gómez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manuel Trejos to make the kick off. El Porvenir's Max Mota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Trejos in the 53rd minute of play. Alejandro Gómez came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by El Porvenir's Miguel Villalobos. But to his dismay, Miguel Villalobos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Garachiné's Alejandro Gómez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Garachiné from getting a goal against them. Alejandro Gómez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrique Arias in the 60th minute of the match. Miguel Villalobos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Alejandro Gómez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When El Porvenir's Enrique Arias in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. El Porvenir's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Manuel Trejos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Max Mota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toto Osorio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Enrique Arias managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Porvenir's supporters rose to their feet, but Enrique Arias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alejandro Gómez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Tomaso Villalobos fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Garachiné's protests and gave Tomaso Villalobos a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Garachiné's Tomaso Villalobos got a free kick in the 76th minute. Miguel Villalobos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alejandro Gómez having to interfere. The supporters of Garachiné booed when El Porvenir was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermes Villalobos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Toto Osorio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Max Mota having to interfere. In the 90th minute, El Porvenir's Enrique Arias ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alejandro Gómez. Alejandro Gómez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. In the 96th minute Manuel Trejos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. El Porvenir had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
