The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 10th minute of the game. One of Deportivo Xeneize:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of What F.C.:s goal. Totín Bultrón went to the wrong direction when Francesco Palma was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. 18 minutes into the match, Pablo Smith had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luchito Paredes. What F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pablo Smith was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Pablo Smith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luchito Paredes having to interfere. Pablo Smith blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luchito Paredes having to make a save. Elias Escobar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reggie Zambrano hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute, Pablo Smith got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juan Morris was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Deportivo Xeneize booed when What F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Gómez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Deportivo Xeneize's Edgardo Fernández couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 56th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for What F.C.. After 58 minutes, Francesco Palma mouthed his way into the referee's book. In the 61st minute of the match, Juan Morris tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Totín Bultrón saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Pablo Smith received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Luchito Paredes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Juan Moscoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ivan Moscoso hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Pablo Smith might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luchito Paredes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pablo Smith ran back to his position shaking his head. Juan Morris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juan Morris received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Totín Bultrón tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Juan Morris got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Juan Moscoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
