Monchi Ramírez came out of the goal and Gilberto Osorio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gilberto Osorio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Monchi Ramírez made a huge save. 15 minutes into the match, El Espino De Santa Rosa's Christian García sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Monchi Ramírez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Gilberto Osorio came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the El Espino De Santa Rosa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Osorio couldn't finish the play. In the 20th minute, Christian García got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in El Espino De Santa Rosa's zone, Francesco Gómez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo Batista came out of the goal and Francesco Gómez tried to chip the ball over his head. Christian García recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francesco Gómez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes El Espino De Santa Rosa's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Marcos Sánchez who took care of the corner kick. In the 69th minute, Jose Sánchez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gilberto Osorio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustavo Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesco Gómez in the 78th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Francesco Gómez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gustavo Batista was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Rafael Ortiz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gustavo Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francesco Gómez in the 88th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, El Espino De Santa Rosa's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Francesco Gómez fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Rafael Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd match minute, El Espino De Santa Rosa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Herrera to maneuver through the defense.
