Lucho Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexander Carranza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexander Carranza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alexander Carranza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucho Fernandez having to interfere. Alexander Carranza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Lucho Fernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, Tonosí's Rafael Nuñez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lucho Fernandez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 19th minute, Andrés Moscoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Tonosí's zone, Joe Smith stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaime Lozano came out of the goal and Joe Smith tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joe Smith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Lozano having to interfere. Joe Smith succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 26th playminute. The supporters of Tonosí booed when Isla Iguana F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emiliano Gomez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joe Smith recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jaime Lozano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Quintero in the 46th minute of play. If Joe Smith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rafael Nuñez made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Isla Iguana F.C.'s goalkeeper Lucho Fernandez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alexander Carranza. The crowd rose to their feet as Tonosí's Alexander Carranza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lucho Fernandez. That made the score 1-2 after 56 minutes of play. The audience was convinced that Joe Smith's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jaime Lozano was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Jaime Lozano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joe Smith in the 64th minute of the match. Ulpiano Nuñez's late challenge caught a Tonosí's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ulpiano Nuñez helped the player get up and apologised. After 73 played minutes Isla Iguana F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Ulpiano Nuñez. Joe Smith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jaime Lozano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joe Smith in the 84th minute of the match. After having played for 87 minutes, Alexander Carranza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tonosí's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexander Carranza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emiliano Gomez hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Alexander Carranza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 94 played minutes Isla Iguana F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Ulpiano Nuñez. In the 96th match minute, Isla Iguana F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emiliano Gomez to maneuver through the defense. When Rafael Nuñez came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Tonosí fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafael Nuñez couldn't finish the play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
