Spectators: 7690 (Terracing: 5768, Seating: 1769, VIP seats: 153) Isla Iguana's Nicolás Benavides started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Los Pollos's Ivan De Paredes got control of the ball when Hector Carranza tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Isla Iguana's zone, Alejandro Muñoz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Ramos came out of the goal and Alejandro Muñoz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Los Pollos's Hermes Herrera got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Alejandro Muñoz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alejandro Muñoz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Pedro Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Isla Iguana's zone, Hermes Herrera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Ramos came out of the goal and Hermes Herrera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Hermes Herrera managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Pollos's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermes Herrera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Ramos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 28th minute, Hermes Herrera left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los Pollos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 31st minute Hermes Herrera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Ramos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejandro Muñoz in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermes Herrera in the 44th minute of play forced Isla Iguana's goalkeeper Pedro Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 46 minutes, Hermes Herrera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Pollos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermes Herrera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hermes Herrera stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Isla Iguana's goalkeeper Pedro Ramos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hermes Herrera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alejandro Muñoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Ramos having to interfere. Hermes Herrera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pedro Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermes Herrera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hermes Herrera was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 93rd minute. Los Pollos's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Max Vergara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Los Pollos's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
