The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gabriel Lao during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Max Rios might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Mendoza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Max Rios ran back to his position shaking his head. 20 minutes into the game, Sergio Fernández lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Carlos Mendoza. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinaldo Bermudez in the 26th minute of play forced Nuevo Guararé F.C.'s goalkeeper Franklin Carrillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the game, Reinaldo Bermudez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guararé F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nuevo Guararé F.C. the free kick. A collision led to Guararé F.C. getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Reinaldo Bermudez hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Guararé F.C.'s zone, Rolando Corral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Mendoza came out of the goal and Rolando Corral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 42 minutes into the game, Toto Alfaro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guararé F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nuevo Guararé F.C. the free kick. In the 43rd match minute, Guararé F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toto Alfaro to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Reinaldo Bermudez made a kick off. Guararé F.C.'s Toto Alfaro got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Nuevo Guararé F.C.'s Franklin Carrillo got control of the ball when José Oberto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Toto Alfaro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Franklin Carrillo made a huge save. Toto Alfaro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Franklin Carrillo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Franklin Carrillo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinaldo Bermudez, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. When José Oberto fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guararé F.C.'s protests and gave José Oberto a yellow card for diving instead. After 68 played minutes Guararé F.C. got a freekick which was hit by José Oberto. A sloppy throw-in by Julio De Gracia in the 71st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Nuevo Guararé F.C.'s David Garcia. After a defensive mix-up in Guararé F.C.'s zone, Max Rios stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Mendoza came out of the goal and Max Rios tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Franklin Carrillo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Toto Alfaro in the 77th minute. Max Rios sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Max Rios fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Mendoza having to interfere. After 82 minutes of play Guararé F.C.'s Gabriel Lao was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 83 played minutes Guararé F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Lao. Carlos Mendoza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Max Rios, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. David Garcia took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Mendoza. Carlos Mendoza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Guararé F.C.'s Reinaldo Bermudez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Franklin Carrillo. That made the score 2-1 after 92 minutes of play. Toto Alfaro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Franklin Carrillo made a huge save. Franklin Carrillo was out of position in the 96 minute of play, and Reinaldo Bermudez capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Reinaldo Bermudez really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. Despite being the better team, Nuevo Guararé F.C. failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
