The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute Ivan Pérez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andres Peren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The La Pesa F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andres Peren should have stopped the shot.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ivan Pérez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Andres Peren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agustin Smith in the 57th minute. 59 minutes into the game, one of Plaza:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 64 minutes into the match, Plaza's goal looked a bit too open when Edgardo Garcia De Paredes came free, but Francesco Gutierrez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Plaza's zone, David Valdez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francesco Gutierrez came out of the goal and David Valdez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Edgardo Garcia De Paredes managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Pesa F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Edgardo Garcia De Paredes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francesco Gutierrez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When David Valdez fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Pesa F.C.'s protests and gave David Valdez a yellow card for diving instead. David Valdez hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After 70 minutes, Rigoberto Morris mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Pesa F.C. and the Plaza players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th match minute, La Pesa F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Morris to maneuver through the defense. The attack was good, but when Agustin Smith in the 72nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Agustin Smith could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Andres Peren made a huge save. In the 80th minute Rigoberto Morris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francesco Gutierrez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Plaza's goal looked a bit too open when David Valdez came free, but Francesco Gutierrez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jaime Aizprua during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Plaza supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Plaza would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
