Colon F.C.'s Luchito Villalobos shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 11th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Elias Murillo but with some difficulty. Elias Murillo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Totín Ortega's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Guillermo Sobenis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Totín Ortega was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 18th minute. Colon F.C.'s manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 21 minutes into the game, Manuel Palma was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Subiewerks F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Colon F.C. the free kick. Manuel Palma hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. A long shot from Luchito Villalobos in the 22nd minute of play was well struck, but Elias Murillo made a really good save at the right post. After 24 played minutes Totín Ortega rounded Subiewerks F.C.'s defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Totín Ortega recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elias Murillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Totín Ortega in the 36th minute of the match. In the 39th minute Agustin Centella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Ramírez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guillermo Sobenis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Elias Murillo made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Totín Ortega in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elias Murillo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Manuel Palma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eloy Ramírez having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Totín Ortega to make the kick off. Luis Bultrón charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luis Bultrón the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 56th match minute, Colon F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Bultrón to maneuver through the defense. If Manuel Palma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Subiewerks F.C. booed when Colon F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Tijero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luis Bultrón got his second yellow card in the match during the 70th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. It was beautiful to see Subiewerks F.C.'s Hermes Jaen in action when he in the 91st minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Colon F.C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
