Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eduardo Villarreal, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Raul Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rolando Ramos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Azael Moscoso hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 29 minutes into the game, Lucho Lozano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Tomás Smith was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 1-2 became the score in the 32nd minute when Lucho Lozano elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Eduardo Villarreal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raul Fernandez went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lucho Lozano to make the kick off. After 50 played minutes El Giral got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Bultrón. In the 52nd minute, Lucho Lozano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Felix Gomez fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Giral's protests and gave Felix Gomez a yellow card for diving instead.
