In the 22nd minute Matias Bultrón shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beto Zambrano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 24 minutes, Emiliano De Gracia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Jose United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emiliano De Gracia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matias Bultrón in the 30th minute of play forced San Jose United's goalkeeper Beto Zambrano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horconcitos F.C.'s Monchi Diaz pulled a muscle in his back after 34 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucho Aizprua during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Matias Bultrón stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gustavo Calderón, 54 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as San Jose United's Emiliano De Gracia slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Miguel Quiros. That made the score 1-1 after 56 minutes of play. But to his dismay, Matias Bultrón quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The supporters of Horconcitos F.C. booed when San Jose United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Alfaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emiliano De Gracia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miguel Quiros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. If Felipe Villarreal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beto Zambrano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matias Bultrón in the 89th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Horconcitos F.C. had won after a very even match.
