The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Canaleros F.C.'s zone, Luchito Gomez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Valdez came out of the goal and Luchito Gomez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomaso Castillero got free with Jorge Valdez in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jorge Valdez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luchito Gomez in the 9th minute of the match. If Reggie Aizprua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute Luchito Gomez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Valdez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Canaleros F.C.'s Reggie Aizprua got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 29 minutes, Reggie Aizprua managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canaleros F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Reggie Aizprua was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Canaleros F.C. booed when María Chiquita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonidas Garcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. 34 minutes into the game, Toto Henríguez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Canaleros F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave María Chiquita the free kick. In the 34th match minute, Canaleros F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toto Henríguez to maneuver through the defense. María Chiquita's Joe Garcia De Paredes couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 35th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Canaleros F.C.. The supporters of María Chiquita booed when Canaleros F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Max Ortiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute of the match Joe Garcia De Paredes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jorge Valdez skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Escalona in the 43rd minute of play forced María Chiquita's goalkeeper Alberto Vergara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luchito Gomez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luchito Gomez made a kick off. María Chiquita's Tomaso Castillero got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, María Chiquita's Alberto Vergara got control of the ball when Reggie Aizprua tried to sneak it across the goal line. Reggie Aizprua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Vergara having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Canaleros F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Tomaso Castillero came free, but Jorge Valdez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, María Chiquita's Alberto Vergara got control of the ball when Miguel Escalona tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reggie Aizprua in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alberto Vergara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Reggie Aizprua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, María Chiquita's Tomaso Castillero sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jorge Valdez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 87th minute, María Chiquita's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Reggie Aizprua fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Max Ortiz was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 92 minutes into the match. After 92 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Canaleros F.C.! In the 96th minute there was a penalty for María Chiquita. Joe Garcia De Paredes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jorge Valdez. 1-0. The supporters of María Chiquita booed when Canaleros F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 99 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toto Henríguez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Canaleros F.C.'s supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because María Chiquita had won, even though Canaleros F.C. had held more of the ball.
