When Max Espino fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canaleros F.C.'s protests and gave Max Espino a yellow card for diving instead. In the 2nd minute, Max Espino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luis Oberto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Jorge Valdez made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicolás Gómez in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jorge Valdez saved Canaleros F.C. from getting behind. Luchito Herrera kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reggie Aizprua in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Monchi Arauz saved C.A. INDEPENDIENTE from getting behind. Miguel Escalona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, C.A. INDEPENDIENTE's Martín Quintero got a free kick in the 19th minute. Monchi Arauz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Escalona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reggie Aizprua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Monchi Arauz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorge Valdez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolás Gómez in the 35th minute of the match. Luis Oberto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Jorge Valdez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 43 minutes, Rafael Carranza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Canaleros F.C. and the C.A. INDEPENDIENTE players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 43 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Canaleros F.C.! When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicolás Gómez was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Canaleros F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Carranza to maneuver through the defense. Jorge Valdez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Oberto in the 55th minute of play. Jorge Valdez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolás Gómez in the 58th minute of the match. In the 67thth minute of the game Luis Oberto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Canaleros F.C.'s Jorge Valdez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Toto Henríguez hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Nicolás Gómez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the match, C.A. INDEPENDIENTE's goalkeeper Monchi Arauz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miguel Escalona. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Oberto in the 79th minute of play forced Canaleros F.C.'s goalkeeper Jorge Valdez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorge Valdez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luis Oberto's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Toto Henríguez got his second yellow card in the match during the 83rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Canaleros F.C. getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Toto Henríguez hit a great ball. C.A. INDEPENDIENTE's Nicolás Gómez got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Canaleros F.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for C.A. INDEPENDIENTE.
