Isla Grande's Nicolás Espino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Isla Grande from getting a goal against them. Bethania's Marcos González played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomaso Pérez in the 5th minute of play. After 8 played minutes Bethania got a freekick which was hit by Joe Alfaro. After recieving a nice pass, Isla Grande's Felipe Quirós tried to score from far away in the 9th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Tomaso Pérez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Bethania getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Azael Escalona hit a great ball. Guillermo Moreno struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Marcos González didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Isla Grande. Felipe Quirós hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Milton Posam was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 20th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Azael Escalona got free with Nicolás Espino in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Isla Grande getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Guillermo Navarro hit a great ball. In the 34th minute, Guillermo Moreno ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos González was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 0-2 became the score in the 38th minute when Tomaso Pérez elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Marcos González showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillermo Moreno, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 45 minutes into the match, Bethania's goal looked a bit too open when Tomaso Pérez came free, but Marcos González reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guillermo Moreno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos González having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomaso Pérez to strike the kick off in the second half. Nicolás Espino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermes Corral, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Bethania's Wiliam Carranza suffered a sore thigh after 59 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guillermo Navarro during the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermes Corral in the 74th minute of play forced Isla Grande's goalkeeper Nicolás Espino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Fernandez charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christian Fernandez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Bethania booed when Isla Grande was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. 88 minutes into the game, Bethania's Azael Escalona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicolás Espino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. The Bethania fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Isla Grande were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
