The crowd rose to their feet as Juan Ríos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving José Batista. That made the score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. In the 21st minute, Juan Ríos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Gustavo Ortega put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of José Batista. Gustavo Ortega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Batista having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Ríos in the 36th minute of play forced La Miel's goalkeeper José Batista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. La Miel's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alexander De Paredes in the 53rd minute. La Miel's Alexander De Paredes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jose Castro in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jaime Pinillas short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Jose Castro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gustavo Ortega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Batista having to interfere. A collision led to La Miel getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Américo Zambrano hit a great ball. In the 76th minute Gustavo Ortega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaime Pinilla might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jose Castro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jaime Pinilla ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 77th minute Hermes Sánchez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hermes Sánchez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jose Castro having to interfere. 82 minutes into the game, Jorge Morris was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Isla Caña's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Miel the free kick. In the 90th minute Hermes Sánchez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, Isla Caña's goal looked a bit too open when Hermes Sánchez came free, but Jose Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Isla Caña had won after a very even match.
