When Alexander Diaz fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Paladins F.C's protests and gave Alexander Diaz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 2nd minute, Alexander Diaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felipe Villalobos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Heraclides Smith in the 3rd minute of the match. Alex Morales struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Felipe Castro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Paladins F.C. Juan Moscoso charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan Moscoso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Heraclides Smith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Totin Escalona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Villalobos having to interfere. Totin Escalona hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Alex Morales kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Felipe Castro. That made the score 1-1 in the 22 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in The Paladins F.C's zone, Heraclides Smith stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felipe Villalobos came out of the goal and Heraclides Smith tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 30 minutes into the match, The Paladins F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Heraclides Smith came free, but Felipe Villalobos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 31 minutes, Alex Morales managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Paladins F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alex Morales was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Heraclides Smith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th match minute, San Blas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heraclides Smith to maneuver through the defense. After 42 minutes of play, San Blas's Heraclides Smith made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Felipe Villalobos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alex Morales recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 48th minute, one of The Paladins F.C:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for The Paladins F.C. Sergio Carranza shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alex Morales was the one to do the kick off. Milton Muñoz hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. If Heraclides Smith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 73rd minute, Lorenzo Lao got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Heraclides Smith received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Felipe Villalobos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the San Blas players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
