Antonio Ramírez ran back to his position shaking his head. When Totin Briceño fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Margun F.C.'s protests and gave Totin Briceño a yellow card for diving instead. Humberto Murillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Heraclides Quintero having to interfere. The supporters of Margun F.C. booed when David F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Herrera didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ulpiano Henriguez got free with Matias Paredes in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 33 minutes, Juan Aizprua mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the David F.C. and the Margun F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Juan Aizprua kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34th minute of the match Azael Mota shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Matias Paredes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Antonio Ramírez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Margun F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. David F.C. were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Calito Bultrón to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute of the match Orlando Pinilla shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Matias Paredes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind David F.C.'s goalkeeper Matias Paredes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Juan Aizprua hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Azael Mota, 56 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 60th match minute, Margun F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Villarreal to maneuver through the defense. Humberto Murillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Heraclides Quintero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
