In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guabito's goalkeeper Totín Villalobos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Totín Villalobos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mario Ramírez in the 8th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Churuquita Chiquita F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Mario Gomez came free, but Cheito Brandao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Jorge Mendieta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Guabito booed when Churuquita Chiquita F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Aizprua didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Churuquita Chiquita F.C.'s goalkeeper Cheito Brandao, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Totín Villalobos came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Churuquita Chiquita F.C.'s Sebastián Valdez. But to his dismay, Sebastián Valdez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 26 minutes into the match, Guabito's goal looked a bit too open when Mario Ramírez came free, but Totín Villalobos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 29 minutes into the game, Churuquita Chiquita F.C.'s Sebastián Valdez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Totín Villalobos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Ivan Zapata's late challenge caught a Guabito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ivan Zapata helped the player get up and apologised. In the 34th minute, Ivan Zapata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cheito Brandao made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jorge Mendieta in the 37th minute. Mario Gomez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Cheito Brandao tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sebastián Valdez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cheito Brandao showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pablo Osorio in the 46th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mario Gomez to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario Gomez in the 51st minute of play forced Churuquita Chiquita F.C.'s goalkeeper Cheito Brandao to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raul Diaz hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Guabito's zone, Sebastián Valdez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Totín Villalobos came out of the goal and Sebastián Valdez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guabito's Totín Villalobos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mario Ramírez in the 56th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raul Diaz during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sebastián Valdez took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Totín Villalobos. Totín Villalobos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Guabito's zone, Mario Ramírez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Totín Villalobos came out of the goal and Mario Ramírez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mario Ramírez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Totín Villalobos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Juan Zambrano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Mario Ramírez put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Totín Villalobos. Totín Villalobos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Ramírez in the 88th minute of the match. Jorge Mendieta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cheito Brandao read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. The Churuquita Chiquita F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Churuquita Chiquita F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
