Miguel Mendoza lost his temper 10 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 10th minute of the game. One of Guabito:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Gariché:s goal. Jaime Dely shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Gariché's Pablo Carranza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Gariché from getting a goal against them. Totín Villalobos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Gomez in the 24th minute of play. In the 28th minute, José Gomez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Totín Villalobos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Reggie Bermudez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Totín Villalobos having to interfere. After having played for 37 minutes, José Gomez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gariché's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Gomez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Gomez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reggie Bermudez got free with Totín Villalobos in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pablo Carranza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Mendieta in the 66th minute of the match. After having played for 70 minutes, José Gomez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gariché's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Gomez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Totín Villalobos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Gomez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Gomez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivan Vergara's late challenge caught a Guabito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ivan Vergara helped the player get up and apologised. After 78 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gariché! The referee gave Guabito a penalty, 80 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Cheito Alfaro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gariché's Pablo Carranza. 1-1. In the 85th minute, Jorge Mendieta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pablo Carranza was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Jorge Mendieta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Pablo Carranza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pablo Osorio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Pablo Osorio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Gariché players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Guabito.
