With a little luck, Chanis's Luis Amaya got control of the ball when Gustavo Urane tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cesar De Paredes in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luis Amaya saved Chanis from getting behind. Cesar De Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Luis Amaya tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustavo Urane's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luis Amaya read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th match minute, Chanis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pablo Fernández to maneuver through the defense. Agustin González took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 41st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luis Amaya. Chanis's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Gustavo Urane made a precise shot to the right of Luis Amaya. Chanis's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cesar De Paredes to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Cesar De Paredes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 57th minute, Cesar De Paredes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santa Fé fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Santa Fé's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Agustin González in the 66th minute. Agustin González made a great header on Santa Fé's corner, it was just that Chanis's Luis Amaya managed to reach the ball for a save. 2-1 became the score in the 68th minute when Franklin Gil elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 72 played minutes Santa Fé got a freekick which was hit by Lucho Urane. Hector Agurto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabio Oberto's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Hector Agurto was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Fabio Oberto showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 79 minute of play. After 83 played minutes Santa Fé got a freekick which was hit by Andrés Peren. After 86 played minutes Santa Fé got a freekick which was hit by Cheito Brandao. Gilberto Pinilla was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 87th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Franklin Gil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 94 minutes of play, Santa Fé's Cesar De Paredes made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luis Amaya was left in no man's land by his defense there! For all the effort they put into the match, the Chanis players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Santa Fé.
