After a defensive mix-up in Saravia FC's zone, Mārtiņs Bujanovskis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lorenzo Palma came out of the goal and Mārtiņs Bujanovskis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lorenzo Palma didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Matias De Paredes went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Atletico Nacional getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Matias De Paredes hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a rather tough play, Saravia FC's Monchi Diaz got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 58th minute, Mārtiņs Bujanovskis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lorenzo Palma. The goal made the score 2-2. Lorenzo Palma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mārtiņs Bujanovskis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Saravia FC booed when Atletico Nacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pablo Mendoza didn't get a good kick on the ball. 65 minutes into the game, Nicolás Aizprua threw the ball into play from the sideline. Atletico Nacional's Christian Amaya quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When Elias Trejos came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Atletico Nacional fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elias Trejos couldn't finish the play. José Posam recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Saravia FC's Lorenzo Palma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matias De Paredes in the 76th minute of play. 82 minutes into the game, Mārtiņs Bujanovskis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-4. Lorenzo Palma was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Saravia FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Pablo Castro hit a great ball. Mārtiņs Bujanovskis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Lorenzo Palma made a huge save. Elias Trejos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lorenzo Palma having to interfere. Atletico Nacional's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
