In the 14th minute, Calito Peralta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Beto Tello kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. When Orlando Vergara fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Riders on the Storm's protests and gave Orlando Vergara a yellow card for diving instead. After 27 minutes of play, Riders on the Storm's Calito Peralta made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The supporters of New Géminis Darién F.C. booed when Riders on the Storm was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrés Henríguez might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guillermo Gonzalez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andrés Henríguez ran back to his position shaking his head. If Orlando Vergara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Felix Briceño was the one to do the kick off.
