C.'s Humberto Mora got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Beto González received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Hermes Valdez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Totin Agurto kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Beto González hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. When Lorenzo Ríos came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Caribe F. C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lorenzo Ríos couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Mortí getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Max Ramos hit a great ball. When Totin Agurto came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Caribe F. Sebastián De Gracia charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Mortí's Raul Nuñez suffered a concussion in the 42nd minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Ivan Torrijos fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caribe F. C.'s protests and gave Ivan Torrijos a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes Caribe F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Torrijos. Reinaldo Fernández took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Totin Agurto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Mortí's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastián De Gracia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Totin Agurto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 70 minutes into the game, Totin Agurto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Caribe F. C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mortí the free kick. After 70 played minutes Caribe F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Totin Agurto. In the 74th minute, Ricardo Rios hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Caribe F. C.'s Hermes Valdez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Caribe F. C. from getting a goal against them.
