With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastián Treviño prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Caribe F. C. booed when Rio Hato FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilberto Ulloa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Lorenzo Ríos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caribe F. C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Lorenzo Ríos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastián Treviño breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The shot was a little too simple and Hermes Valdez could save by the left post. Juan Mota charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan Mota the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 31st match minute, Rio Hato FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Mota to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the game, Caribe F. C.'s Lorenzo Ríos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sebastián Treviño made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. In the 45th minute Gilberto Ramirez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermes Valdez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Caribe F. C. were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Lorenzo Ríos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Sebastián Treviño tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Lorenzo Ríos could shoot a difficult shot in the 74th minute, which Sebastián Treviño however easily saved by the left post. Caribe F. C. were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after Rio Hato FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Totin Agurto took the corner. The corner ended in Totin Agurto almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Rio Hato FC's Sebastián Treviño did a great save. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Caribe F. C.'s goalkeeper Hermes Valdez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gilberto Ramirez kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 81st match minute, Caribe F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romel Aizprua to maneuver through the defense. Rio Hato FC's Sebastián Treviño played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eloy Posam in the 89th minute of play. After 90 minutes, Luis Fernandez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rio Hato FC and the Caribe F. C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th minute, Luis Fernandez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sebastián Treviño showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Mora, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. A hard shot 95 in the game by Lorenzo Ríos from a close distance when the talented Sebastián Treviño managed to make a qualified save. Rio Hato FC's players were relieved.
