Boquerón's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucho Peralta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Boquerón booed when Caribe F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Totin Agurto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 20 played minutes, Boquerón's Luis Pinilla shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hermes Valdez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Boquerón reached it. Jose Herbruger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermes Valdez having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilberto Ortega got free with Luis Gil in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pablo Vergara succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 30th playminute. If Pablo Vergara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Boquerón's Luis Gil got control of the ball when Gilberto Ortega tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 42 minutes, Pablo Vergara made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Boquerón's Luis Gil tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
