Boquerón F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Panamá FC the free kick. A collision led to Boquerón F.C. getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Juan Quintero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Américo Briceño having to interfere. Miguel Alfaro struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Reinaldo Brandao didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sporting Panamá FC. Juan Quintero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the match, Sporting Panamá FC's Alexander Bultrón broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Juan Quintero stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Enrique Spadafora who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Reinaldo Brandao when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
