Fabio Arauz charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabio Arauz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luchito De Paredes couldn't finish the play. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Franklin Batista the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Cañazas protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Franklin Batista had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cañazas!
