The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Frente Revolucionario F.C's Lorenzo Corral got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Romel Zapata made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stein Van Eyke in the 4th minute. After a rather tough play, Colón's Luis Mendieta got a free kick in the 10th minute. Romel Zapata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Totín Mendoza in the 11th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Frente Revolucionario F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Herbruger came free, but Ingolf Ortmark reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Israel Acosta struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Romel Zapata didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Frente Revolucionario F.C. With a little luck, Colón's Romel Zapata got control of the ball when Israel Acosta tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Romel Zapata managed to avoid a goal in the 34thth minute, when Frente Revolucionario F.C's Israel Acosta fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Leon Sedzikowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Romel Zapata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 43 minutes, Azael Villarreal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colón's supporters crossed their fingers, but Azael Villarreal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

In the 50th match minute, Colón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustin Diaz to maneuver through the defense. Romel Zapata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mikhail Nelepin in the 54th minute of play. Frente Revolucionario F.C made a substitution. Lorenzo Villalobos replaced Lorenzo Corral. In the 66th minute, Israel Acosta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Colón's Tomaso Posam got a free kick in the 69th minute. The supporters of Frente Revolucionario F.C booed when Colón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomaso Posam didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Israel Acosta in the 71st minute of play forced Colón's goalkeeper Romel Zapata to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Reggie Palma during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Colón's Romel Zapata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Israel Acosta in the 76th minute of play. Reggie Palma kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. If Leon Sedzikowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Leon Sedzikowski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Frente Revolucionario F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Leon Sedzikowski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romel Zapata breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Romel Zapata stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Israel Acosta's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Romel Zapata came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Frente Revolucionario F.C's Leon Sedzikowski. But to his dismay, Leon Sedzikowski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. In the 89th minute Stein Van Eyke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romel Zapata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Colón's goalkeeper Romel Zapata, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Emil Swoboda kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Azael Villarreal in the 95th minute of play forced Frente Revolucionario F.C's goalkeeper Ingolf Ortmark to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There was no doubt that Frente Revolucionario F.C were the better team. Frente Revolucionario F.C's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
