Germán Burgos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Zapata in the 9th minute of play. Vego F.C.'s Germán Burgos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Zapata in the 11th minute of play. When Fabio Arauz fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Baby Barza's protests and gave Fabio Arauz a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Baby Barza's Fabio Arauz got a free kick in the 12th minute. The supporters of Baby Barza booed when Vego F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Garcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alex Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vivaldo das Neves having to interfere. After 18 played minutes Baby Barza got a freekick which was hit by Andrzej Wnukowski. In the 22ndth minute of the game Luis Bermudez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vego F.C.'s Germán Burgos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 22nd minute, Gustavo Pinilla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Bermudez in the 23rd minute of play forced Vego F.C.'s goalkeeper Germán Burgos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Germán Burgos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Zapata in the 25th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Vego F.C.'s Alex Garcia got a free kick in the 26th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Baby Barza's zone, Edgardo Henriguez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vivaldo das Neves came out of the goal and Edgardo Henriguez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 34 played minutes Vego F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Jose Muñoz. After having played for 35 minutes, Juan Zapata managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Baby Barza's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juan Zapata was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jose Muñoz hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Germán Burgos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Zapata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luis Bermudez made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Hector Escobar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vivaldo das Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Edgardo Henriguez came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Vego F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgardo Henriguez couldn't finish the play. 65 minutes into the match, Vego F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Luis Bermudez came free, but Germán Burgos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Bermudez in the 66th minute of play forced Vego F.C.'s goalkeeper Germán Burgos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Garcia De Paredes hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arxel Izquierdo got free with Germán Burgos in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 77 minutes into the match, Vego F.C.'s goalkeeper Germán Burgos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maurice Druon. Maurice Druon who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 79thth minute tested the skills of Germán Burgos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Arxel Izquierdo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 87 minutes into the game, Luis Bermudez lined in a short shot 0-1 behind a frustrated Germán Burgos. After 94 minutes, Andrzej Wnukowski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Baby Barza and the Vego F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 95th match minute, Baby Barza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrzej Wnukowski to maneuver through the defense. Maurice Druon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Baby Barza supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Baby Barza would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
