Ricardo Arias came out and tried to block the shot, but Juan Zapata slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 12th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Baby Barza's goal looked a bit too open when Max Spadafora came free, but Vivaldo das Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Max Spadafora scored 1-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vivaldo das Neves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luchito Arauz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Max Cedeño put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Vivaldo das Neves. Vivaldo das Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Max Cedeño in the 35th minute of play. Vivaldo das Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Max Spadafora, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Colón F.C. defense, Juan Zapata kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Arias. The Colón F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Arias should have stopped the shot.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Max Spadafora stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Antonio García mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Baby Barza and the Colón F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 51st match minute, Baby Barza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio García to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Colón F.C. defense, Luis Bermudez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Arias. If Luis Bermudez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vivaldo das Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Max Cedeño in the 71st minute of the match. Baby Barza's Gustavo Pinilla suffered a sore knee after 76 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Baby Barza's Juan Villarreal was substituted for Gustavo Pinilla. A collision led to Colón F.C. getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Luchito Arauz hit a great ball. Max Cedeño recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luchito Arauz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vivaldo das Neves having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Armandinho Valadares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baby Barza's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luis Bermudez in the 96th minute. The corner ended in Luis Bermudez almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Colón F.C.'s Ricardo Arias did a great save. In the 96th minute of the match Andrzej Wnukowski shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Arias showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
