Ingolf Ortmark made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Zühtü Gelenbe sent off a good shot on target. Cesar Pimentel struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Ingolf Ortmark didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boca Juniors. An unexpectedly hard shot by Israel Acosta in the 12th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Jaime Gómez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 14th play minutes Israel Acosta shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Jaime Gómez and just under the crossbar into goal. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when Frente Revolucionario F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milton Spadafora didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 26 minutes, Stein Van Eyke made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Boca Juniors's Jaime Gómez tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Toto Benavides hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Cesar Pimentel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Cesar Pimentel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ingolf Ortmark. That made the score 1-3 in the 36 minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Israel Acosta notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Boca Juniors's Jaime Gómez. Jaime Gómez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 43rdth minute of the game Israel Acosta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Boca Juniors's Jaime Gómez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stein Van Eyke to make the kick off. Zühtü Gelenbe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ingolf Ortmark read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Ingolf Ortmark showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zühtü Gelenbe in the 55th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Israel Acosta in the 56th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Jaime Gómez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jaime Gómez was a little too slow when Stein Van Eyke got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 1-5. Stein Van Eyke's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 64thth minute, Jaime Gómez skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 67 minutes into the match, Israel Acosta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jaime Gómez. Boca Juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Israel Acosta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-6. Frente Revolucionario F.C made a substitution. Monchi Toledano replaced Lorenzo Corral. Boca Juniors's Jaime Gómez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Sedzikowski in the 72nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Stein Van Eyke took a quick shot and it went in 1-7 without a chance for Jaime Gómez to make any attempt to save it. Jaime Gómez was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Israel Acosta showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-8 in the 81 minute of play. Totín Morris didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-9 via right post in the game's 84th minute. Frente Revolucionario F.C's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! After some careless play in the Boca Juniors defense, Stein Van Eyke kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jaime Gómez. The Boca Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jaime Gómez should have stopped the shot. In the 91st minute, Leon Sedzikowski fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jaime Gómez, passed just outside the right post. Frente Revolucionario F.C's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
