In the 30th minute Demetrio Ester shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Villaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brito Rendon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Peter Rebollo made a huge save. When Marquez Tocalanza came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Suapaca SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marquez Tocalanza couldn't finish the play. Demetrio Ester's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arturo Villaro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 63rd minute of the match Zeledon Alaejos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Peter Rebollo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Brito Rendon came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the UD Pedernales fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brito Rendon couldn't finish the play. In the 70th minute, Xantalen Bribiesca ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Peter Rebollo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After 73 minutes, Demetrio Ester mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Suapaca SC and the UD Pedernales players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 73rd minute, Demetrio Ester hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brito Rendon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. In the 80th minute, Suapaca SC's Demetrio Ester dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Brito Rendon struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Peter Rebollo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UD Pedernales. Suapaca SC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
