When Ramirez Arostegui came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Peñarol S.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramirez Arostegui couldn't finish the play. If John Unzaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Xefe Fabregas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Seiro having to interfere. Augusto Seiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Unzaga, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. When Xefe Fabregas, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 26 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Augusto Seiro was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Xefe Fabregas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Seiro having to interfere. A collision led to Peñarol S.C. getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Johnny Carmona hit a great ball. John Unzaga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Peñarol S.C.'s Augusto Seiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xefe Fabregas in the 33rd minute of play. Xefe Fabregas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Xefe Fabregas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augusto Seiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Unzaga, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Peñarol S.C.'s goalkeeper Augusto Seiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Emilio Villaelrriego hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. CD Muchine's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Clemente Othaz in the 45th minute. CD Muchine's Clemente Othaz was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Augusto Seiro in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Xefe Fabregas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Leon Corton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Augusto Seiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by John Unzaga in the 63rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xefe Fabregas in the 66th minute of play forced Peñarol S.C.'s goalkeeper Augusto Seiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xefe Fabregas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Augusto Seiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. John Unzaga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Seiro having to interfere. Carcelén Beite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramirez Arostegui, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 76th minute of the match Peñarol S.C. got a corner. CD Muchine's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Xuaco Cuevas ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Xuaco Cuevas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but CD Muchine's Carcelén Beite did a great save. Augusto Seiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leon Corton in the 80th minute of the match. Augusto Seiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xefe Fabregas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vitor Cantos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CD Muchine were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Peñarol S.C. to leave the ground with a draw.
