Zornin Mendieta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Zulaica in the 17th minute of play. Zornin Mendieta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alvaro Zulaica, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. If Vimaro Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. JUVENTUDE FC's Zornin Mendieta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Zulaica in the 44th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

53 minutes into the game, JUVENTUDE FC's Elvis Machado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Xuan Costilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Vimaro Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xuan Costilla having to interfere. Hector Arbulo charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hector Arbulo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Tena booed when JUVENTUDE FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rubén Añe didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Elvis Machado fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored JUVENTUDE FC's protests and gave Elvis Machado a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd minute, Alvaro Zulaica ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zornin Mendieta was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. If Alvaro Zulaica had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, JUVENTUDE FC's Vimaro Baptista sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Xuan Costilla narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alvaro Zulaica could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Zornin Mendieta made a huge save.
