Spectators: 7231 (Terracing: 5425, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) C.S.EMELEC's Lopez Ledesma started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lopez Ledesma's late challenge caught a Eléctricos FC- Ambato's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lopez Ledesma helped the player get up and apologised. In the 3rd match minute, C.S.EMELEC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lopez Ledesma to maneuver through the defense. Alfonso Finez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Francisco Terrazas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Robires in the 9th minute of play forced C.S.EMELEC's goalkeeper Francisco Terrazas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Francisco Terrazas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfonso Finez went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Alfonso Finez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Eléctricos FC- Ambato's Rios Benitua in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After some careless play in the C.S.EMELEC defense, Alfonso Finez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Francisco Terrazas. The C.S.EMELEC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Francisco Terrazas should have stopped the shot. When Rios Benitua came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Eléctricos FC- Ambato fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rios Benitua couldn't finish the play. Francisco Terrazas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfonso Finez in the 31st minute of the match. Jairo Gallegos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Santos Umpanera charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Santos Umpanera the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Santos Umpanera kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Francisco Terrazas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Robires in the 37th minute of the match. Rios Benitua sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfonso Finez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Santos Umpanera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfonso Finez couldn't finish the play. If Rios Benitua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Francisco Terrazas managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when Eléctricos FC- Ambato's Alfonso Finez fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfonso Finez in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Francisco Terrazas saved C.S.EMELEC from getting behind. Poroso Briz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lopez Ledesma, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.S.EMELEC's goalkeeper Francisco Terrazas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Paulo Robires hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Alfonso Finez did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-3 to the left of a surprised Francisco Terrazas 89 minutes into the match. After 92 played minutes C.S.EMELEC got a freekick which was hit by Lopez Ledesma. Alfonso Finezs short, quick shot in the 93rdth minute got Francisco Terrazas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Santos Umpanera came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Eléctricos FC- Ambato fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Santos Umpanera couldn't finish the play. If Alfonso Finez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eléctricos FC- Ambato played a much better game than C.S.EMELEC and deserved their victory. The C.S.EMELEC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
