The audience thought a goal was coming when Xusto Ciaran got free with Benedykt Pracki in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, CD Sangolqui's Edgar Val got a free kick in the 18th minute. Cesar Tendiero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without López Aubets having to make a save. CD Sangolqui's López Aubets played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerardo Santibañez in the 30th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 31 minutes into the game, when Reyes Mir put in a rough tackle. After having played for 33 minutes, Geovanny Lavet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CD Sangolqui's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geovanny Lavet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. C. D Leones's Benedykt Pracki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zilar Lampez in the 36th minute of play. After 41 minutes of play CD Sangolqui's Efrain Riego was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. C. D Leones's Christobal Lomas got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cesar Tendiero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without López Aubets having to interfere. Cesar Tendiero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. López Aubets tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gerardo Santibañez to make the kick off. Cesar Tendiero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Isaias Castellana in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benedykt Pracki prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind CD Sangolqui's goalkeeper López Aubets, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gerardo Santibañez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. López Aubets tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Xusto Ciaran was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 73rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Gerardo Santibañez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without López Aubets having to interfere. Gerardo Santibañez did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised López Aubets 82 minutes into the match. C. D Leones's Benedykt Pracki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zilar Lampez in the 89th minute of play. With a little luck, CD Sangolqui's López Aubets got control of the ball when Gerardo Santibañez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Despite being the better team, CD Sangolqui failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
