An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Colsa in the 19th minute of play forced Otavalo FC's goalkeeper Pablo Magaña to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Otavalo FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Yambay Dineros hit a great ball. Mora Armiñan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Pablo Magaña when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Carlos Colsa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Colsa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 29 played minutes Otavalo FC got a freekick which was hit by Luzuriaga Gandia. Peter Ontoria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute of the match Gomez Prelo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cagua Cano skillfully saved the ball. 42 minutes into the match, CD Suapaca's Mora Armiñan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pablo Magaña narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 44 minutes into the game, Xuban Rioseco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CD Suapaca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Otavalo FC the free kick. The supporters of Otavalo FC booed when CD Suapaca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xuban Rioseco didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Peter Ontoria stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Carlos Colsa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mora Armiñan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 58th minute by Marco Faubelo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 59th match minute, CD Suapaca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Unai Salvado to maneuver through the defense. Peter Ontoria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 64th minute, CD Suapaca's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Marco Faubelo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Pablo Magaña showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Colsa, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Peter Ontoria might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cagua Cano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Peter Ontoria ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 73rd minute, Marco Faubelo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ortiz Dacorrega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Colsa in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pablo Magaña prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Peter Ontoria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cagua Cano having to interfere. CD Suapaca's Mora Armiñan got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 91st minute, Luzuriaga Gandia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marco Faubelo struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Cagua Cano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Otavalo FC. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. CD Suapaca had won after a very even match.
