The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alejandro Magno's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hector-Luis Cemborain ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Club Atlético New Boys's Jose Valdes to fire away a dangerous shot which Alberto Rada despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 15th match minute, Alejandro Magno was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zarando Reimundez to maneuver through the defense. 18 minutes into the match, Alejandro Magno's goal looked a bit too open when Arturo Mina came free, but Alberto Rada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Machado Cachon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chiriboga Reiriz in the 19th minute of the match. In the 23rdth minute of the game Chiriboga Reiriz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Atlético New Boys's Machado Cachon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Chiriboga Reiriz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Machado Cachon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Victoro Sepulveda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st minute, Bohórquez Maide hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38th minute Chiriboga Reiriz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Machado Cachon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chiriboga Reiriz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clemente Cañas was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 47 minutes into the match. After 46 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Club Atlético New Boys! The referee gave Alejandro Magno a penalty, 49 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Bohórquez Maide, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Club Atlético New Boys's Machado Cachon. 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chiriboga Reiriz made a kick off. In the 54th match minute, Club Atlético New Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Horcajo to maneuver through the defense. Club Atlético New Boys's Machado Cachon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trivniño Suarez in the 59th minute of play. Machado Cachon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hector Folgoso in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th minute of the match Trivniño Suarez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Machado Cachon skillfully saved the ball. Chiriboga Reiriz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Machado Cachon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Club Atlético New Boys getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Arturo Mina hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chiriboga Reiriz in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Machado Cachon saved Club Atlético New Boys from getting behind. If Chiriboga Reiriz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chiriboga Reiriz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Victoro Sepulveda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Alberto Rada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, Wilmer Manurga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Machado Cachon. Club Atlético New Boys's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilmer Manurga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Machado Cachon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chiriboga Reiriz's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. 2-1 became the score in the 92nd minute when Victoro Sepulveda elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.
