A hard and well directed shot from Díaz Tascon led 20 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. OmnisFC's Raimundo Gormaz became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-1. 28 minutes into the match, Adolfo Saribiarte notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of SOCIEDAD DEPORTIVO QUITO's Patricio Prada. Patricio Prada was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Xano Ruete's late challenge caught a SOCIEDAD DEPORTIVO QUITO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Xano Ruete helped the player get up and apologised. Adolfo Saribiarte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind OmnisFC's goalkeeper Raimundo Gormaz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of SOCIEDAD DEPORTIVO QUITO booed when OmnisFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xano Ruete didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Xulio Renedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patricio Prada was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Xano Ruete managed to get in a good position for a shot. OmnisFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Xano Ruete was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patricio Prada breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Xulio Renedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patricio Prada read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. The OmnisFC fans' excitement grew in the 90th match minute when OmnisFC's Xulio Renedo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. For all the effort they put into the match, the SOCIEDAD DEPORTIVO QUITO players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for OmnisFC.
