In the 3rd minute, Zadornin Cerrajeria ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Xepe Villafañe was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hector Bustillos during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hugo Frances fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costante Gallaiztegui having to interfere. Xepe Villafañe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Guiluz in the 14th minute of play. If Zadornin Cerrajeria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fausto Guiluz struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Xepe Villafañe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Green Lanterns United. Xepe Villafañe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zadornin Cerrajeria in the 19th minute of the match. Fausto Guiluz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xepe Villafañe came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Green Lanterns United's Fausto Guiluz. But to his dismay, Fausto Guiluz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After 25 played minutes Hugo Frances rounded Green Lanterns United's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. 40 minutes into the match, Green Lanterns United's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Frances came free, but Costante Gallaiztegui reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Costante Gallaiztegui made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when González Perana sent off a good shot on target. Hector Bustillos got his second yellow card in the match during the 47th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 47 played minutes Green Lanterns United got a freekick which was hit by Hector Bustillos.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fausto Guiluz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Robin Garza fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Green Lanterns United's protests and gave Robin Garza a yellow card for diving instead. When Hugo Frances came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Real Madrid fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hugo Frances couldn't finish the play. After 72 minutes of play, Real Madrid's González Perana made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Costante Gallaiztegui was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by González Perana in the 77th minute of play forced Green Lanterns United's goalkeeper Costante Gallaiztegui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. González Perana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costante Gallaiztegui having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Hugo Frances got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Green Lanterns United's Costante Gallaiztegui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by González Perana in the 88th minute of play. Fausto Guiluz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Xepe Villafañe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. In the 95th minute, Fausto Guiluz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hugo Frances sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Real Madrid players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
