When Giannis Iasonidis came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Blue Lightning FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giannis Iasonidis couldn't finish the play. Xayveon Rico stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Giannis Iasonidis's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Jaramillo Digon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zuriko Somarriba having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giannis Iasonidis during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Giannis Iasonidis to make the kick off. A wasted opportunity for Blue Lightning FC. 64 minutes into the match, Giannis Iasonidis notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Salinas City F.C.'s Xayveon Rico. Xayveon Rico was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Blue Lightning FC defense, Daniel Zarzuelo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zuriko Somarriba. The Blue Lightning FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zuriko Somarriba should have stopped the shot. If Enrique Yturrondo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cagua Tezano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xayveon Rico having to interfere. 80 minutes into the game, Blue Lightning FC's Giannis Iasonidis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Xayveon Rico made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. When Cagua Tezano came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Blue Lightning FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cagua Tezano couldn't finish the play. After 85 minutes of play, Blue Lightning FC's Giannis Iasonidis made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Xayveon Rico was left in no man's land by his defense there! Giannis Iasonidis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xayveon Rico having to interfere. When Jaramillo Digon fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Salinas City F.C.'s protests and gave Jaramillo Digon a yellow card for diving instead. Blue Lightning FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
